Hi, I’m Tracey.
What fascinates me about birth is that it is both the most extraordinary and the most ordinary event in the human experience. Extraordinary in that a tiny human body grows, develops, and enters the world and ordinary in that it is happening 256 times per minute across the globe.
As your doula, I recognize the importance of birth for you and your family and will do everything I can to ensure that your labor, birth, and first moments of motherhood are special and empowering. My goal is for you to have a safe and satisfying birth, as you define it.
Those who know me best describe me as kind, nurturing, funny, organized, and driven. I take every opportunity I can get my hands on to expand my knowledge and network to best support my clients.
Outside of doula work, I am the Assistant Director of Professional Learning at a national early childhood non-profit organization. In my free time I enjoy international travel, exploring our national parks, and tasting all the wonderful cuisine that Chicago has to offer!
Birth Training
As of April 2023 I am a DONA certified Birth Doula. I received my DONA approved birth doula training in July 2021 from Capital City Doula Services. As part of this course I also received training in breastfeeding, birth, and hands-on pain management techniques.
Postpartum Training
I received my CAPPA approved postpartum doula training from Heather McCullough at HM Birth. I am currently a candidate for my CAPPA Postpartum Doula certification.
Doula Experience
In addition to working with private clients through Birth with Tracey, I am also a volunteer full-spectrum doula for Chicago Volunteer Doulas (CVD). CVD is a birth justice organization providing accessible, comprehensive doula support to vulnerable communities in the Chicago-land area.

“Birthing is not about making babies. birth is about making mothers - strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.”
